Description
For sale is a beautiful example of the AA-1050 receiver which was the top of Akai's AA-10xx line at the time (circa 1973). It boasts 50W per channel into 8 ohms (same power as the AA-1150) and has been checked over by a qualified technician (about a year ago – we have been using it ever since without any issues). The wood veneer case and polished front face are both in excellent condition and it looks super clean. Reviews note, “The scary thing is, that it sounds as good as anything else I have - nearly identical to my Kenwood KA-8100 (and my old KA-9100), and better than my (Pioneer) SX-980. Can't believe it actually. Tuner is pretty nice too. Build quality is top notch inside - it has a large heat sink for the power supply transistors, something I have only seen on my NAD 3080. It's a good receiver and the sound is fantastic! The bass is also nice and deep! If you'll find one just buy it! It would be the best investment! As a Vinyl-lover it's a big plus this receiver has 2 phono inputs !! Definitely a 5-star for me.” All models from the AA-10XX series were produced entirely by Akai without the use of subcontractors typical for the other companies, such as Pioneer. This unit was Made in Japan and weighs a hefty 14kg, so pick up is preferred - or perhaps meeting halfway. Otherwise, I will pack carefully and quote actual shipping charges via courier. Sorry, but no sales to the South Island. This is a superb unit and very well priced. Please email with any questions.

Hello, do you know if this was recapped when your technician looked at it? Many thanks 😊 h********e (620 • 11:52 pm, Sat, 17 May )Hi and thanks for asking. I don't know, but the unit was given a thorough going over, with parts replaced as required, and I have never noticed any performance issues. usakiwis (594 • Saturday, 17 May 2025 )
