Engineered on the same core technologies as the studio grade brother, the EAR 912. The EAR 868’s smaller size may mean theres less of it but there’s nothing less to it. It’s still big on performance with circuitry designed by Tim de Paravicini.

The 10mm thick front fascia is CNC milled then finished in chrome. Four gold or chrome dials allow for input selection and volume, plus a remote. The 868PL utilises the reliable PCC88 tube in a configuration of four. The carefully built circuit boards enable performance that is low in distortion, low in noise.

The output transformers and power transformers have been tailored for the 868 series. Each transformer is hand wound to exacting specifications that ultimately produce it’s exhilarating sound.

The additional built-in tube phono stage in the EAR 868PL allows use of a MM or MC cartridge with Step Up Transformers and internal loading options of 4, 12, and 40 ohms for the MC side. The 868PL can support a wide range of cartridges.
