The Sony MZ-R55 is a classic Minidisc Recorder/Player with optical in, analog in, mic in and line out connections and runs on a battery or via 6v DC input from a power brick (included). Note: The battery is included but doesn't hold a charge. Batteries and external AA battery packs are available online.

In a lovely light gold colour with silver accents and logo this unit looks really nice and is an ergonomic pleasure to use.This is my favourite Minidisc unit and is built like a tank.

This example is in excellent condition with no marks on the body and is in 100% working order. It comes boxed in its original retail box with the original power brick, an optical cable, a 3.5mm to 3.5mm audio cable, a soft carry case, remote, original earphones and the operating manual. I have also included 3 Minidiscs [2xVerbatim 74 1xTDK 60]

This is an excellent piece of engineering that is built to last and has many years of use left in it. They really don't make electronics like this anymore.

From my collection. Comes from a smoke and pet free home and has always been kept in a humidity controlled environment when in storage. I purchased this unit new in 2000 and have looked after it really well.

Features: ATRAC 4. Unit is small, 75% the volume of the MZ-R50. 40 sec shock memory, backlit remote "stick controller" with 9 character display (vs. 6 in previous versions). Operation, editing and track labelling functions available on remote as well as main body. Titling may be done while recording is in progress. Clamshell opens via pushbutton (rather than slider). Two step bass boost. Selectable microphone sensitivity (HIGH/LOW). Sample rate convertor - converts non CD audio (CD audio is 44.1khz) like 48khz to 44.1 making it versatile.
