The Sony MZ-R50 is a classic Minidisc Recorder/Player with optical in, analog in, mic in and line out connections and runs on a stick battery (not included) or via 6v DC input from a power brick (included).

This example is in very good condition with only minor marks on the body and is in 100% working order. It comes in its original retail box with the original power brick, remote and headphones, optical cable and a soft carry case. I have also included 5 used Minidiscs [3xVerbatim 74 and 2xSony 74] and the manuals in pdf format on CD.

This is an excellent piece of engineering that is built to last and has many years of use left in it. They really don't make electronics like this anymore.

Note: battery not included but these can be sourced online. I have used it with the 6v power brick and connected to my hi-fi set up and it sounds amazing.

From my collection. Comes from a smoke and pet free home and has always been kept in a humidity controlled environment when in storage.

Features: ATRAC 4 16Mbit DRAM provides 40 seconds of shock proof memory. Syncho-start recording for digital input signals. New "stick controller'' type remote with normal stereo mini-jack for headphones. Stick controller provides all the functions of the MZ-R30 remote plus control of play mode and display mode. Scrolling display on remote shows time elapsed (not time remaining), track title, MD title and time recorded (not date recorded). Remainder of display on remote shows the track number (alternating with total tracks on the MD), a little flashing disk icon, play mode, battery level, and REC for when you are recording. Digital bass boost, position pointer, date and time stamp recording. Selectable microphone sensitivity (HIGH/LOW). Repeat modes: all repeat, 1 repeat, shuffle.
