Base or mobile ground plane radials are designed to provide a ground plane to improve performance of 1/4" wave VHF and UHF antennas. It simply plugs in between the antenna mount and an antenna with a PL259 connector. Ideal for turning a mobile antenna into a base antenna where the ground plane below is insufficient. Can also be used in mobile applications where the metal below the antenna is insufficient - ie above a fibreglass canopy.
