The Funke DSC550 is an active antenna requiring 5V power from the connected equipment, e.g. TV or set top box. The blue LED on the DSC550 will illuminate when the correct voltage is received. The aerial socket on most modern TV/set top box equipment will emit the 5V power required as standard.
