When the manufacturer specifies shingle type roofing, the assumption is that the mount will screw through the outer roof into solid material using the supplied coach (lag) screws.

This mount is not suited for decramastic tiles where there is a batten on the tile edge and a cavity between the tile and the underlay where the mount would need to go. The chateau style tile surface is also curved where the pivot mount is more suited to a flat surface.
