Description
50L Copper Pot Still for distilling.
I made this still 8 years ago and have enjoyed using it to make Gin, Rum, Whiskey, Grappa and other spirits in the authentic tradionally way. It can also be used for making essentially oils. Im only selling because I'm looking to fund another hobby.
All the copper work is in excellent condition, new bottom was tig welded onto the still last year.
The assembly is easily disassembled and reassembled for cleaning with the Tri clamps.
Condenser is a full copper shell and tube system which is very effective. Buyer will need a cooling water source from either recycled rain water or garden hose connection.
Setup includes the parrot and hydrometer.
It is heated by a gas ring which is included and works but is in tired condition. These are easily found at the Avondale markets or online for cheap.
Copper was tradionally used for distilling for many reasons including its increased flavor profiling and hygiene. This pot still is perfect for those who want to make traditional spirits that taste delicious and authentic, when done right using the right ingredients and process you can produce a high end quality product, for a fraction of the price of going to Glengarrys.
Happy to provide more detailed photos to people serious about buying.

Hi , this looks great, nice work, I’m wondering how to input herbage for distilling essential oils, does the lower pot come apart? Could this be expanded? Thanks b******7 (209 • 7:54 pm, Sun, 26 May )Yeah the lower part separates and gives you a big enough opening to fill up the pot, big enough to use for herbage. cjbutler (145 • Sunday, 26 May 2024 )Bit pricey for me but love your work b******7 (209 • 7:42 pm, Tue, 28 May )Thank you. I really enjoyed building it, took a lot of hours to make, especially the full copper shell and tube condenser. cjbutler (145 • Tuesday, 28 May 2024 )
