This is a very dark velvety red beauty. Even people who don’t like Geranium fall for this one!

Black Magic has a “Crawling” growing habit if left to grow freely. It gets to a height of about 30-40cm and spreads in all directions.

Starts flowering: In spring and ends in summer or autumn depends in which zone you live.

Geraniums/Pelargonium’s prefer to grow in sunny conditions; the exception being variegated Geranium species; these should be grown in lightly shaded areas. They like to grow in moist soil that has good drainage. Best results are gained from using a rich soil of pH 6 to 7, but this is not essential as Geraniums will grow in an ordinary soil fairly successfully.

Once growing it is important to keep the soil that G/P grow in moist by regular watering. They will also require to be fed once a month with a liquid fertilizer. For best results dead head the old flowers to maintain a glorious blooming display. G/P do not like the cold. So it depends where you live. You can keep them outside if the winter temperatures don’t dip further that -3 C otherwise you have protect them from frost or bring them indoors in the winter. During their period indoors the soil should be kept slightly moist, but do not over water them. G/P bloom best if they are somewhat pot bound.
