CAPPARIS SPINOSA SEED [Caper Bush] 5 x SEEDS

Capparis spinosa, or caper bush is a useful and beautiful perennial plant in the Caper Family, the Capparidaceae, which also includes Cleome. aka Flinders Rose. The caper bush grows as a spiny, low mounding shrub to 2-3 ft tall with arching red stems and dark green, semi-succulent round leaves.

It is best known for the edible flower buds, often used as a seasoning, and the fruit, both of which are usually consumed pickled. Left unpicked these buds form delicately scented pinkish-white flowers, adorned with long lavender stamens, that open at dawn and close late in the afternoon.

Caper bush is a species that has so many qualities, including culinary and medicinal uses. It needs similar growing conditions to Olives - lean, well-drained soil with plenty of heat and sun. They like dry conditions, with little water. They are salt-tolerant and grow well along the coast
