Aroha Stone (Stone of Love) also known as Piemontite Shist.
A darker pink Aroha.
Disc pendant fitted with either a black or flax-green cord. You choose. Lots of work in this piece.
Piemontite Schist is a metamorphic stone formed under high pressure and heat. The mineralogy includes quartz ( the vast majority), Albite and oliglocase feldspars, micas, garnet, and amphibole occasionally present.
Metamorphism is a powerful geological process - under intense heat and pressure, deep within the earth's crust rocks melt and fuse, atoms combine and new rocks are formed. Piemontite is one of these, Pounamu like Kawakawa, Kahurangi, Kokopu, Inanga are also examples. Grossular garnet is another example.
Genuine NZ stone I collected at a river in central Otago
46 mm diameter 11 mm thick
Black or flax green waxed cord with adjustable slipt knot. Max length of cord 410mm mm max but you can adjust the slip knot to shorten or I can fit a longer cord.
