Description
Here is a collectable copy of Zane Greys classic Tales of Southern Rivers. It is a first edition copy by Harpers, and stated as a first edition with the code H-Y. The book has an unmarked, uncreased "as new" dust jacket which is covered. It is clipped however. This book is listed in ABE Books with a price of NZ $2293 without an inscription.
As well as an important work from Zane Grey this is a fascinating read as Zane Grey explored previously unfished waters. A lot of the book deals with his initiation in Tarpon Fishing from his first bite in fact, He was captured by the size of the fish in the waters of the Everglades. As they say on the inside front cover of the dust jacket (which is as new). If you have never chased and photographed man eating orcas in the Gulf Stream, stalked one hundred and fifty pound tarpon in four feet of water in the bush of the Everglades stifling mangrove swamp or indulged in hand to hand fights with blood crazed jaguars here is an unequalled opportunity to find out what it is like. Join the group as they mix it with jaguars, crocodiles, tarpon, sailfish, wild boars unbelievable insects and other problems on his travels. This area was unchartered, He was fishing and shooting in areas where no white man or boat had ever been before. Join Zane Grey on his journeys', it will be a wild ride!
To make this book a very important part of your collection it is inscribed by Zane Grey's son Romer (Rome). It appears to be a New Year Gift and is dated 1965.
