Description
Electric kiln Bought new from Northern Kilns [ family-run kiln makers based near Preston in Lancashire , England , UK ] in 2000 . The kiln is circular and top loading . The internal measurements are 45 cm high and 64 cm diameter, making it approx 5 cubic feet in volume . Included are 3 circular kiln shelves 58cm diameter , plus one which sits on the base of the kiln . Props are not included . The kiln runs on a single phase 32A supply dedicated circuit from the house. It comes with its controller , Stafford Instruments ST316A. Both kiln and controller are in very good working order but as can be seen the kiln requires rebricking and rewiring . This is a totally genuine sale and if I could have found someone who would repair the interior of the kiln for me I would have done so.

Do you have a 'buy now' price? r*********n (227 • 10:39 am, Fri, 17 May )hmmm not at the moment . I have a reserve of $1000 on it . Definitely open to offers! andy372 (138 • Friday, 17 May 2024 )Do you have the diameter of the heating element wire? In addition the wattage setting so I can cost the element repais. Thanks Tas t*****n (17 • 4:49 pm, Fri, 17 May )I will find out for you asap Also ,I am new to trade me , so ignore my comment about being open to offers as I dont think that that is permitted andy372 (138 • Friday, 17 May 2024 )I think the data is on third image marked 'elements'. I think I can see swg then 6mm but it could be .6. Tas t*****n (17 • 5:05 pm, Fri, 17 May )Yes it says SWG 6mm The wattage setting ? It says K.W. RATING 8 Does that answer your question ? I have taken a close up photo and will add it to the others. Welcome to arrange to come and look at the kiln andy372 (138 • Friday, 17 May 2024 )More on that .. I have just looked at the heating element wire and measured it , and I would say that the diameter is close to 2mm Seller comment Saturday, 18 May 2024 Have you tried the kiln maker for the elements? What temperature does it go to please? f*****k (31 • 4:27 pm, Sat, 18 May )Do you mean have I asked the kiln maker for replacement elements? The kiln goes to 1300 C and I regularly fired it to 1260 C andy372 (138 • Saturday, 18 May 2024 )Can you still get kiln elements from the kiln maker? f*****k (31 • 10:22 am, Sun, 26 May )As the auction closes tonight , and it is Sunday , I will not be able to answer that question definitively before the auction closes tonight. Northern Kilns are still making the same kiln and I imagine they would be able to supply elements if necessary . Look on their impressive website for more info. I'm also thinking that there will be the equivalent elements available here in NZ . Thats the best I can say for now ! If we go past tonight I will find out more. andy372 (138 • Sunday, 26 May 2024 )Hi, just to let you know, it's very simple to replace elements. You can contact manufacturer or where you bought the kiln from to get a price for new ones. They're very flexible and easy to replace when they're new. There are many youtube videos online to show how. I'm a 65 year old lady with a bad back and I replaced mine with no trouble. Inside of brickwork looks fine, a few cracks don't matter. b***8 (0 • 1:43 pm, Sun, 26 May )Thank you . That is very helpful andy372 (138 • Sunday, 26 May 2024 )Just had another look at their website and they are able to quote for replacement elements .So the short answer to all that above is yes.
