Following on from the Academy Award winning wartime epic Patton, George C. Scott reprises his role as one of the most heroic and inspirational military leaders of all time in a captivating story of life achievement and personal reflection.
As World War II comes to an end President Eisenhower (Richard Dysart) relieves General Patton from his command of the Third Army Division and gives him the challenge of recording the history of the war as he saw it for future generations to look back upon and understand.
But a tragic automobile accident in Germany leaves him paralysed, facing an untimely demise in an Army hospital bed. Surrounded by his dear wife Beatrice (Eva Marie Saint) and a throng of doctors the great man reflects upon his life, his adventurous childhood, a promising career as a junior officer and fledgling tank commander during WWI and the decorated legacy of lifelong service to the United States of America.
