An inspiring and highly acclaimed film based on the incredible true life story of Irish writer & artist Christy Brown (Daniel Day-Lewis). Born with crippling cerebral palsy into a poor working-class Irish family, Brown is mistakenly believed to be retarded and helpless. However, using the only part of his body he can control, his left foot, and with the help of his strong-willed mother (Brenda Fricker) he learns to write & paint.
