The Fairer Sax is a saxophone quartet consisting of Anne-Louise Lane on soprano, Gabrielle Lane on alto, Karen Street on tenor and Julia Mills on baritone.

This must have been one of their first recital discs (haven't checked to establish their exact discography), in a program of easy-listening arrangements of music from 1920s jazz to 1970s pops (Earth Wind And Fire and Fleetwood Mac), with the addition, in some tracks, of percussion, keyboards and bass guitar. If you are interested in arrangements (I always am, always a refreshing way to hear the old warhorses in new timbral guise) and those styles of music, this is for you.

As far as I can tell, The Fairer Sax released four albums and one EP. A bit of YouTubing turned up a surprising number of their recordings. Although not a huge fan of sax quartets, I actually found I enjoyed quite a bit of their non-classical repertoire.
