Description
‘Proud Scum’ and ‘The Terrorways’ - a 45rpm seven inch single in mint condition. ‘Suicide 2’ (Proud Scum) and ‘Short haired Rock’n’Roll – was released on Ripper records in 1980. It features two of Aotearoa’s most influential and hard hitting punk bands on the one slab on vinyl and what a great cover! What makes this musical nugget even more valuable is that this plastic diamond is it’s part of the legendary Martin Phillipps collection and it contains his name on the inside cover. ‘Proud Scum’ were formed from members of punk bands Rooter and The Atrocities, The band were: Jonathan Jamrag (Griffiths) (vocals), John Atrocity (Jenkins) (guitar), Alastair Rabbit (Duguid) (bass), and Bruce Diode (Hoffman) (drums). Atrocity left in June 1979 (replaced by Sid Scum). Atrocity's departure was inspiration for one of the band's best known tracks, "Suicide 2", which encourages him to "...jump off Grafton Bridge". Terrorways, not to be confused with Punk bands The Tearaways from Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, or from Hertfordshire, England, were a New Zealand punk rock band from Auckland, who were big on the local punk scene. They are also remembered for their songs "She's a Mod" and "Never Been to Borstal"
