This birdhouse has been designed in a modern architectural style with thick columns, and rafters with 30-degree roof pitch.
No assembly required
Dimensions: -410mm high -440mm wide -310mm deep
Made of new, untreated NZ grown larch (equivalent durability to H1) the random width vertical tongue-and-groove cladding has a bandsawn surface finish.
The roof is one piece of bent recycled baby iron /ripple iron.
Ventilation holes have been provided at high level.
A french-cleat is provided to mount the box to a wall or tree; or it could be fixed on top of a post.
Annual clean-out is allowed for via a removable dovetailed (bird pun intended) drawer as pictured. Space inside the drawer for nesting is a generous 160mm x 170mm. There are drainage holes in the base of the drawer if rain does ever get inside.
The entry hole is 45mm diameter (suitable for a starling or smaller bird)
If you want to watch the new and growing family live there is room in the roof space to mount a small camera (not provided) looking into the nesting area
