Description
10 years old
This handsome lad is around 10 years old and was hand-raised from birth after his mother rejected him… and honestly, just look at him!!!
Felix came to the NZ Cat Foundation last year due to a change in circumstances for his owner and was later signed over when it became clear he couldn’t return home. About five months ago, he became unwell with an inflammatory condition affecting his jaw muscles, which required hands-on care. Thankfully, he has made a great recovery and is back to being an absolute stunner. There is a chance of recurrence, but the condition responds well to steroids and simply requires monitoring, and bringing him to the sanctuary clinic for care if he doesn’t seem to close his mouth properly, salivates or seems unable to eat. Felix is a Velcro cat, so any changes would be quickly noticed.
Felix is best suited as an indoor-only companion, though a catio or supervised harness adventures would be a bonus. He is a large boy with a long tail and an even bigger personality, basically a dog disguised as a cat who wants to be involved in everything. He'd love nothing more than to be your new shadow, reaching up for cuddles, following you around, and would adore being able to sleep in his new humans bed every night!
While he’s a gentle giant, Felix isn’t a fan of dogs or other cats, which is why he’s looking for a quieter, pet-free home where he can truly relax.
If you think Felix might be the one for you, please make an enquiry via the link provided and we’ll be in touch.
Please note that due to his inflammatory condition, he is being offered as a permanent foster, so there is no adoption fee, and NZCF will assist with vet costs related to his condition.
