Meet Steve, an American Bulldog x that we think to be around 5-7 years old. He is around 32kg and a solid boy. Steve came to us in poor condition with a few injuries and has since healed up really well. He is calm, quiet and well behaved at the shelter and always happy to see the staff members, despite his solemn face he is a happy goofy boy and enjoys any cuddles he can get.

Steve has mixed well with other dogs in the shelter, and was very tolerant of being jumped on by an energetic younger dog. For this reason, he may be suitable to live with another dog.

We haven’t tested him with cats, and would consider older children in the home but think Steve would probably suit a chilled home with someone who wants a dog for companionship. As he has a fairly short bulldog face, his new owner should be aware of the extra care that brachycephalic dogs need such as making sure they don’t overheat.
