Description
This is a large sized vintage transfer printed Portmeirion Botanic Garden Tall Spaghetti Pasta Canister / Storage Jar with Wooden Lid featuring the Christmas Rose with the Latin name Helleborus Niger. Features the pink and white Christmas rose with colorful moths and butterflies. Details are clear and colourful.
Dates from the 80s, came out to NZ with us in the mid 90s and still in great shape - we used it to store spaghetti, but now moving and need to clear space.
The wood lid has rubber seal to keep the canister airtight.
At the base of the illustration, it says "Christmas Rose Helleborus Niger ". We understand that the design is retired.
Has the green Crest ID back stamp says “The Botanic Garden circa 1818, Portmeirion, Susan Williams-Ellis, Made in England, 1972, Dishwasher Proof, Oven to Table, Freezer & Microwave Safe”.
The jar is 30cm high including lid and the lid diameter is 10 cm. Heavy and weighs just under 900g.
It is in excellent vintage condition - no cracks, chips, crazing or obvious scratches.
Pick up is from central Wellington, or Kapiti coast. Will package carefully for sending (at your own risk).
