Description
Old, Older, Desirable: Antique Wedgwood “Indian Tree” Tray – for you or museum collection
We offer today a great dish from very distant times, created by those great artists at the world famous Wedgwood Potteries in Stoke-on-Trent, in Staffordshire, then the very heartland of quality china production in England many moons ago.
Founded in 1759 by Josiah Wedgwood this company became famous for producing the Queen’s Ware and Jasper ceramic ranges and also the Indian Tree range, one early example now on offer here. Please check the photos of this delightful aged beauty with that delicate hand painted Indian Tree décor.
This ancient beauty measures 24 cm in length and just over 16 cm across.
Being some 140 to 150 years old this is a true museum piece. Not surprisingly it shows some signs of use and age with some brownish spots typical for ancient earthenware. The good news is that we could not find any signs of repairs, cracks or chips. The date stamp at its base was used from the early 1860’s !!
And the other good news is that this beauty display so well and is ready to be used again, not just for display. Enjoyed by generations in the past these attractive bowl can soon be yours soon. Happy bidding.
Please note that payment is due within three working days.
Please note also that where possible we try to combine postage, so why not check out our other listings of quality china from time to time.
