1/43 scale Honda NSX by Maisto

This is a 1/43 scale die cast and plastic model of the Honda NSX by the Hong Kong model maker NewRay. The model has standard bodywork and alternative, custom bodywork that can be fitted to the original shell once the original bodywork has been removed. A fascinating and out of production model by this innovative model maker.

The NSX, going on the market in 1990 and being produced through till 2005, is regarded as the first Japanese Supercar with its all aluminium body and hi performance engine. Despite it only being powered by a 3.0L (later 3.2l) V6 engine it was more than capable of competing with its Italian competitors due to its light weight and superior handling honed by F1 champion Ayton Senna.

In fact, so good was the ride, handling and balance that F1 designer, Gordon Murray owned one for personal use and has stated that the chassis was the inspiration for his own Supercar, the McLaren F1.
