Description

Model Sailing Boat

This model was originally built in 1946 by yacht maker Ralph George Millman of Wellington and over the years it was passed around to various members of the family.

The hull was carved out of a solid timber block. The deck is a thin 3ply.

In 2012, his grandson, Bob Millman, spent some time restoring and repairing this craft. The sails were upgraded to “ripstop” nylon. The mast and sail booms were all hand formed. The mast rigging is now of nylon, the original being of fishing line string.

The boat has been converted to radio control.

Specifications:

Length: 1.22 metres Overall height: 1.82 metres Sail area: .92 square metres approximately Beam: 0.24 metres Keel weight: 3.8 kilos

A Futuba Attack 2dr transmitter and receiver is also available. We don’t believe this originally belonged to this vessel, so it will need binding for the vessel to work with this remote.

Obviously comes with stand but also 4 wheel trolley with handle for transporting from car to water.
