Feature The throttle body in a car is responsible for regulating the engine's air intake volume, functioning much like a gatekeeper, adjusting airflow through the opening and closing of a butterfly valve. Drivers use this mechanism to control both the vehicle's speed and power output. During acceleration, the valve opens wider to increase airflow and thus boost power, whereas during deceleration or when idling, it closes to limit airflow, maintaining a stable idle and conserving fuel. Modern throttles typically employ electronic control to achieve precise responsiveness and efficient combustion.
