A 1 room structure with double glazing, and aluminium doorway to a covered deck. The cabin is home to some very distinctive native NZ timber features, handcrafted by a man with a love of timber.

A carpenter with a passion for the natural, practical, aesthetic, ergonomic, functional, creative and beautiful, pours his heart into his Off-grid Retreat. With a gravity fed water supply to the outdoor kitchen, solar lights and a small battery charging station, and composting toilet, a very low impact to the natural environment is here.

Wild native bee hives can be seen here, and the ecosystem is flourishing with deer in these valleys, native birds in the flora beneath towering Rimu trees and fejoa trees are growing in the front garden as well as a small flower garden now along the edge of the deck.

With approximately ten thousand litres of rainwater supply split between the two tanks, collecting from the new colorsteel roof on both the cabin, and the tank shelter on the terrace a few meters up the hillside behind the cabin with a plan to build another outside room with viewing deck.

Numerous plumbing and drainage connections have been installed in the ground to service multiple outlets for a proposed toilet, shower, kitchenette, laundry.

Setting up a septic tank is yet to be completed, a compost toilet, and cold water only at this property. With a property such as this there is always something new being created.
