Description
Stunning Edwardian porcelain hatpin holder with sterling silver (hallmarked) rim. The colour is a subtle mottled pale and darker butterscotch with a beautiful transfer printed image to the front of a lovely young woman wearing a huge feathered picture hat.
The image is a copyrighted transfer printed image of a painting by Philip Boileau, famed for his 'Gibson Girl' style images of beautiful Edwardian women.
The silver rim is fully hallmarked for Birmingham, 1912, for the firm of H Pidduck and Sons.
Condition: Very good apart from from very minor denting to the lower silver rim near the hallmark. It's hardly noticeable but I mention it in the name of accuracy of description. There's also a tiny scratch to the surface to the woman's lower left sleeve.
Dimensions: Height 11.5 cm x 5.7 cm Diameter of base and 3.7 cm Diameter of upper
