Pan Am Postcards x5.

Australian bidders welcome.

We do offer combined postage discounts when/where possible.

Offered for sale in like new condition are these x5 postcards, 9cm x 14cm, from a large series featuring various aircraft in Pan Am livery.

Our main photpgraph shows the x5 cards.

The next photograph features one of Pan Am's more famous images, a Boeing 314 Clipper flying over the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco. This aircraft is registration number NC18602, and is called "California Clipper".

Then the next photograph shows "Clipper Gem Of The Sky". This aircraft was in fact an ex-U.S.A.F. Douglas C-54B-1 which had already passed in to civil hands being used by another airline before joining Pan am in June 1949, and leaving Pan Am service in 1959. It was the first of three Pan Am aircraft to carry the "Clipper Gem Of The Sky" name.

Next it is hard to make out the registration of the aircraft in this photograph, but we believe it is N435PA, "Clipper Celestial Empire". The back of the card states 'landing at Miami International early 1960's".

The 4th one is a company issued picture of a Boeing 707-321B, registration N882PA, and called "Clipper Queen Of The Pacific".

The last photograph shows a card that features a Sikorsky S-42, one of only x10 ever built and this one is NC-882N and was called “Brazilian Clipper”. This one survived service and was bought back from Pan Am by the original inventor who converted it to a six room houseboat in 1947. The fate of the boathouse is unknown.
