elcome to cc coins Up for auction is a Greek silver drachm minted sometime between 336-281 BC
The 'seated zeus' drachm type were first issued during the reign of Alexander the Great (Alexander III of Macedon) between 336-323 BC across various mints in his conquered lands. Following his death, successor kings began using the same design. Some kings chose to continue issuing drachm's under the title of Alexander, whilst others began changing the reverse legend to their own reigning titles.
