Mainly New Zealand pennies and halfpennies from 1940 to 1965, but also includes Australian pennies from 1938 to 1964 and British pennies and halfpennies from 1911 to 1967.

NB. Depicted is a shoebox of coins weighing 12.5 kg. This lot contains a further 70 to 100 boxes of various weights, making a total of one tonne.

Good average grade, with no coins that are bent, damaged or badly stained.

Interesting to note that, due to strengthening demand in China, the overseas price on the London Metal Exchange broke through the US$7,000 and NZ$10,000 per tonne barriers last month. It is currently sitting on NZ$9,841.
