This is a vintage Japanese hemp kimono robe Gery Shibu #11.

This kimono has no lining.

Condition: Very good vintage. There are some stains on the lower right front part and collars. Please check my photos.

All my kimonos are hand-picked (by me!) from Japan. These vintage obis and kimonos are one of a kind. This is the only one.

Guide to Condition of Vintage Kimono: Mint: Beautiful and perfect. Possibly never worn. Excellent: Little visible wear, lightly worn. Very Good: Normal wear for the age of the garment. Good: A few obvious visible flaws.

[Washing silk vintage kimono] We recommend taking your silk kimono to a dry cleaner. Try to find one who has experience in dealing with fine silks.

If you must wash yours by hand, please be aware that in following them, you do so at your own risk.

1:Fill a bucket with cold water. If required, stir in a small drop of mild, non-alkaline detergent or baby shampoo.

2:Place your kimono in the bucket and gently swirl for a minute or two, taking care not to scrub at it or leave it in for too long. (Remove it immediately after washing it.)

3:Rinse the kimono carefully to remove any suds.

4:Air dry outdoors on a hanger away from direct sunlight. No tumble dry or iron.

5:Make sure it's completely dry before folding and storing.

N.B. If your kimono contains a dark or red color lining, we advise against hand washing it as the color may bleed and stain the exterior.
