This ancient pottery sculpture looks to have been a torso. The remaining pice is the lower half.

Its provenance is completely unknown to me, but seems to be extremely old. It was part of a collection of art I bought from a couple who travelled widely. I didn't realise it was amongst it and so didn't get the chance to enquire further.

Size is indicated by the medium sized lemon in the photograph. Certainly looks to be a clay of some sort.

Maybe Roman, Greek, Egyptian??? Happy for information from anyone knowledgable out there :-)
