Superb Iconic Kiwiana Design Brass Log Box Use as log or storage box or simply as a stylish interior design statement Made from wood panels faces with copper or brass Wood has saw and manufacture marks and brass and copper have beautiful patina that shows some definite age, at a guess this dates from the 1940s -50s plus or minus a decade, so say mid 20the century Box is 385mm tall, lid is 665mm x 385mm Inside is 578mm x 306mm Overall in good to very good condition, the design and craftsmanship on the front panel is excellent, the lid has a similar design but this appears to be flattened by use, maybe it?s been used as a seat. The cardboard lining on the inside of the lid is dented and pierced, again from use. The hinges on the lid are good and sound and work as they should. The good overall condition just shows use and care over the ages and adds to the overall patina, look and feel of what is a fantastic piece of NZ furniture. If a valuable antique is something that speaks of its time and place this this is, or will become a true, NZ antique.
