The most beautiful and rare series of badges designed and manufactured in 1980 for XXII Summer Olympic Games in Moscow. They symbalise “Swallowtail” Ghibelline red merlons (fortifications) that crown the walls of the Kremlin. The sporting events featured are as follows: Race Walking. Field Hockey, Javelin Throw, Swimming, Soccer, Boxing, Gymnastics, Shot Put, Volleyball and Hammer Throw. The writing on the center circle says in Russian: “Olympic Games Moscow 80” Made in USSR, cold war times, nearly 40 years old, each pin measures approx. 33 x 23 mm.
