Description
The total length of this axe is 70.5 cm. The length of the head is 17 cm and its maximum width is 13 cm.
On one side, just below the butt, are impressed these words - 'KELLY AXE & TOOL WORKS'. This maker's mark was in use between 1873 and 1960.
The handle has a few borer holes (please see photos) but the wood is still sound and in pretty good condition.
The head has signs of oxidation on one side but is fine on the other side.
The cutting edge or sharpening bevel is good.
The total weight of the axe (i.e. including the handle) is about 2 kg.
The starting price of $45.00 is the reserve.
