Description
A prime candidate for a restoration project, that should give you beautiful results, even 100 years later it still functions and cuts.
Hobbies is a company that had been producing this saws since 1885, basing their models of an American design, which you can see the American influence in the font of their logo and the general lines of the machine.
This is the O.K. Model, which was introduced in the 1920s, advertised as practically unbreakable, this model was created from much lighter materials than the previous models (such as the Suffolk or Imperial) for example the legs are made from steel rather than cast Iron, this model was also able to be fitted with a dust blower and side wings ( which we don’t have with this particular example)
Stands 81 cm tall, 40 cm wide and 67 long. It is a great looking item, with an Americana styled Art Nouveau foot, and 1920s high machine age lines, this bridges the gap between manual hand saws and electricity
It does still saw, but when its under load the fly wheel slips a bit, this is a project.
