Roy Cunliffe was a New Zealand artist, best known as a mural painter and contributor to the vibrant outdoor art scene in Katikati, Bay of Plenty—often called New Zealand's "mural town."

Cunliffe became a key figure in Katikati's famous mural project, which features large-scale public artworks depicting local history. Notable works he created include:

• Uretara Landing (painted in 1991): A composite mural based on historical photographs of early Katikati, depicting the area's pioneering era.
• The mural on the First Post & Telegraph Office (now retired), sponsored by Telecom New Zealand.
• Other contributions, such as paintings for local historical scenes, including one of the Pioneer Store (noted in community records around events like the Serendipity Festival) and a framed painting of No.3 School on Walkers Rd.

His murals often focused on local pioneer history, community landmarks, and scenes that preserved Katikati's heritage.
