This Rare Original Oil Painting of a Young Girl 1945 is by New Zealand Artist Shirley Josephine Hoult. Shirley Hoult in 1949 of the Carnegie Travel Scholarship to England awarded by Auckland Society of Arts, her work is held in the collection of the Sarjeant Art Gallery, Whanganui and is reference in the Christchurch Art Gallery ' Portraits of a Century'. It measures 500mm x 500mm over the cream, gold and white enamel wood frame. This Oil Painting is in good condition after over 70 years, some natural paint age crazing quite normal for its age still with good tone and colour protected behind clear glass with a 4ply clean white over-matt. The frame is a little dusty with general surface grime, general surface ware, will clean up fine and is in sound condition. The backing board has some natural age browning, light surface grime, light surface ware, is firm and backing tape well applied, ready to hang.
