This photograph, ‘Swan Lake’ (c.1950, Kaikoura, New Zealand) was taken by NZ photographer Ellis Dudgeon, and was hand-coloured by Mrs Dudgeon.

It is a beautiful example of NZ photography with the bonus of mid-century swan charm.

The photograph - which is not signed or named - has a protective coating on it, however it also has scratches and nicks to the surface which it was incredibly hard to get a photo of (while there are a few of them, they are quite hard to see unless the light is right) so I gave up. The frame has also seen better days, it is wonky and marked and you would probably want to replace it with something tidier. I am guessing it fell off a wall at some point in its life... none of which stops it from looking great when it is on a wall now, and of course the wonky frame gives it character.
