Back in the 1920s the tiny Welsh resort of Penmadoc had little in the way of excitement to offer young Charlie Pritchard, a clerk in the local bank. To stave off his boredom Charlie devises a means of breaking into the bank, a plan which may well have begun as a joke but which is destined to end on a note of high tension. Soon, Charlie is perfecting the details of a raid which will leave him triumphant over his smallminded employers, rich beyond his dreams and free to start a new life with the delectable Delphine.
The day comes, and with it a discovery that Charlie could never have forseen and a crisis that allows, apparently, no escape...
"Highly recommended. Combines tension with a splendid sense of atmosphere and vivid characterization. An excellent read." SUNDAY EXPRESS
