Description
“New Zealand Soils An Introduction” by H S Gibbs
“The soils of NZ are a major physical resource whose full and permanent maintenance is essential to the well being of future generations. In this book for students of physical geography, and of earth and soil sciences, Professor Gibbs of the University of Waikato shares some of the considerable knowledge he has acquired since he began work as a soil chemist in 1935.
He describes types of soil and their suitability for use in such economic activities as farming and forestry and discusses different methods of soil management and their effect on environmental conditions”.

Inside the front cover is a sticker which says “Matamata College Textbook Scheme” but it only has one persons name recorded as having used the book.
