Eden Park A History by John McCrystal and Linsay Knight
This beautifully crafted book gives a superbly illustrated insight into the history of Eden Park. It is a book that will captivate any sports fan, history buff or passionate New Zealander.
Over the past century, Eden Park has been a focal point for numerous high profile sporting events and many of its stories mirror social developments within New Zealand. The book traces the Park?s progress over more than 100 years as it has developed from a very unprepossessing piece of swampland to its current position as a global sporting icon. The book includes a fascinating social commentary as the Park?s story unfolds, along with many interesting vignettes of the many past champion players, epic contests and enthusiastic home crowds synonymous with the Park.
The book was commissioned on behalf of the Park by Graham Walton, our resident historian. Graham has spent countless hours interviewing, researching and generally supporting the Publisher, Grant Sheehan and co-authors, John McCrystal and Lindsay Knight.
