This is the real story of canadian born Auckland basedcriminal lawyer Christopher Harder and his detention in a Fiji military jail.
After holidaying in Fiji where he became enchanted with the friendly people and their Pacific lifestyle harder returns to become involved in the bizzare case of eight Rotuman chiefs who swore allegiance to the queen and were then charged by the Rabuka regime with sedition.
this leads to his campaign to help defend xis of the 21 people accused over the container load of illegal Soviet made arms distributed in Fiji in April 1988.
From this he becomes involved with fijian born Mohammed Kahan the man suspected of master minding the arms shipment to Fiji. this leads Harder to London where kahan was arrested and is strongly opposing extradiiton by the Rabuka regime. the penalty for treason in Fiji is death.
