Description
Military Operations Gallipoli (2 volumes) by Br.-General C. F. Aspinall-Oglander
BRITISH OFFICIAL HISTORY OF THE GREAT WAR.
Re-printed by the Imperial War Museum in 1992. Red cloth hardcover books published without dust jackets. Both in excellent condition. Volume I contains 380 pages, and Volume II 517 pages. Both include numerous illustrations and maps, orders of battle, appendices, and indexes.
This excellent 2-volume British official history covers the campaign in the Eastern Mediterranean to seize the Dardanelles from the Turks in 1915. Intended to open a route to the Black Sea and force Turkey out of the war, it was a bitter campaign which ended in the evacuation of British & Commonwealth forces.
