Description
Chasing After Danger: Combat Pilot's War Over Europe and the Far East, 1939-42
Terence O'Brien
Twenty one year old Terence O'brien, at the outbreak of World War Two lost no time paying his own passage back to England to join the RAF. From their his energies, optimism and courage knew no bounds. Undergoing pil;ot training in southern England when German aircraft were concentrating their attacks in the south, his first tour of operation was on light bombers attacking French ports - in particular, Brest Harbour. After ensuing tours against North Sea shipping, he was transferred to the Far East when Japan entered the war. Units in that campaign were accused of cowardice, but to O'Brien, the Command was guilty of disastrous blunders, inefficiency and stupidity.
