This is a brilliant read , the autiboigraphy by Group Captain Alan Deere .
Group Captain Deere was lauded by Lord Dowding as " the kind of fighter pilot whose courage and determination bought England through the greatest immediate danger which has threatened it since Napoleons armies stood along the Channel shore "
He was awarded the Croix de Guerre , and also made an Order of the British Empire , the DF C and bar ( U. S )
He was notably the most famous of all the NZ pilots , and was in continous action as a fighter pilot from the beginning of the war until 1943 , by which time he had racked up :
enemy planes destroyed 22, probables 10 and damaged 18 .
In particular his account of Dunkirk , and also in the Battle of Britain , record the action on behalf of those who didnt live through to fight another day .
Very well written and in my opinion an excellent read .
In good condition , bar a few tiny tears in dust jacket . From a smoke free home .
Sorry , no PO boxes Payment must be made within 3 days of auction closing , thank you
