His home was "Hambledon".
The biographer writes on page 16 that Gould owned "at least 256 sections" in Christchurch and other districts in Canterbury between 1871 and 1887. He owned Gray's Hill Station in the McKenzie Country from 1867 to 1876 and in partnership with Tom Clowes owned Simon's Pass station from 1865 to 1878.
