Description
Difficult Country, An Informal History of Murchison by Margaret C. Brown
Published 1976 and printed by R. Lucas & Son 1st Edtion, hardback with dust cover, 262pp Signed by author
"Why did people ever come into such rugged and inhospitable country? And why did some remain and make their homes among the forbidding mountains and bush-clad valleys?...
...Though it has been written primarily by those who have associations with the district, the wealth of photographs will appeal to all who are interested in early New Zealand."
As can be seen in the second photo the dust cover has had it's share of scrapes and bruises however the book itself is in good condition. The top corners and bottom of the spine curling inward slightly and the pages only have general wear and no tears.
It has been signed by the author on the title page and a personal inscription on the inside cover says 'To Ian with lots of love from Dad & Mum'
