Training larger livestock: Before relying on any electric fence for larger, faster-moving animals, it’s best to provide shock-training. Because of their weight, speed and impact, untrained animals may damage the netting or break posts if they rush the fence.

Set up a smaller training area with strong posts and a secure electric fence first. This allows animals to safely experience the shock, develop a shared “herd memory”, and learn to respect the fence line. Always follow local regulations and the energiser manufacturer’s safety instructions.
