71 jobs that are perfectly suited to working from home

Where can you find great work from home jobs?

Last updated: 11 May 2023

Working from home has gone from the unusual to very much a part of the modern professional landscape. The COVID-19 pandemic had a big part to play in this, massively expediting an already rising trend in New Zealand businesses.

Unsurprisingly, both in Aotearoa and around the world, employees jumped at the chance to have more flexibility, and employers have cottoned on. In fact, there’s been a 269% increase in the number of job listings on Trade Me Jobs with ‘work from home’ included in the job description between Q1 of 2019 and Q1 of 2023.

However, not every profession is well suited to working from home. Surgeons, for example, are famously picky about wanting to do their jobs in purpose-built theatres, and pilots find it much harder to fly planes while sitting in their PJs at the breakfast table.

So, if working from home is a priority for you, what jobs should you be looking at?

We’ve now got a ‘Browse work from home jobs’ on our homepage, that will filter just for these types of roles, while still allowing you to refine your search by industry category, locations, contract type and pay range as usual.
